so its been about 2 months since the hexagon came down and already i miss it lol. and in my 125 i think im going to go with more of an lps/softie tank with lots of fish, im having trouble keeping the water acceptable for acros with the fish i already have. so now im thinking of redoing the hexagon for a full out
sps system.
what i have to work with so far is the tank itself, basically a 2x2x2 acrylic hex tank, a coralife 125 skimmer, a mag 18 that i was thinking of using for a cls. a 250w hqi mh setup with electronic ballast and a
spider reflector, and a 2x65w pc setup for actinics. i want to go bb with this tank also, but ive never had a bb setup so i have quite a few questions.
do u think the skimmer would be sufficient for a 55gal with very low fish load?
would the lighting be too much? what kind of photoperiod should i start with?
would a mag 18 with 2 to 4 outets and a large spraybar plus a ~500gph return pump be sufficient for flow to keep detritus suspended?
does there have to be pulsating current with scwd or om units? or can they just be always pumping?
