Septic Tank/water changes
In our new/old house we have a septic tank. I was wondering if it would be harmfull to the septic system for me to simply dump my water change down the drain. It would be great for me but I don't know about the septic. Any thoughts?

I would look to an outside drain source. the salt may be a problem over time. if you can have it drain to the ditch out front/back that would be best. you can also trick the birds and put it in your birdbath

Add some sand, a little palm tree and they'll have their very own Club Med.

Allot of people with cast iron drains, or septic tanks dump the water in the street rather than risk the damage.
Here is my idea, kick the birds out and plant a mangrove in that birdbath. You'll be the only person on the block that can figure out how to keep a mangrove tree!

That would be cool.... of course in the end the easy answer is to just have the water drain into the street.
