Very good, looks great!

I agree a better skimmer would be an advantage for you, although I do have a Seaclone modded to run airstone driven and CC on a 15 gallon tank, and it works great there (I can't stand not using something, I would rather spend days modding it). It may be a good idea to look into a bit more flow as well, to save on syphoning.

Two things wiskey.

First =how did you mod the seaclone?
second= This is just a temporary deal with the p/heads till I get the sump built. It will have a lot more flow at that point between a Tunze and the return pump. The problem I am having is I have a new race boat being built as we speak and its literaly taking all of my spare change that I need for tank upgrades.

Well the mod was simple, but remember I designed this to work with a 15 gallon tank.

First I took the U-tube off, then on the skimmer body I removed the latch that used to hook the u-tube to the skimmer. Now I have a 3/4 plastic nipple comming out of the skimmer body.

Now I take the drain from my tank and feed it derectally into the skimmer, this runns at about 150 GPH (remember only 15 gallon tank). So the water drains from the main tank, goes through the skimmer and into the sump.

Next I drill a small hole in the centre of the lid of the skimmer cup, and take a peice of rigid airline, attach a wooden airstone to it and put this all the way down in the skimmer to the bottom. I put a ziptie on the rigid airline right below where it goes through the hole in the lid so the lid holds it down, place the lid on and attach a airline to the rigid tube.

Now I attach a Luft pump to the airline, the skimmer is adjusted using the air adjustment on the luft pump.

HTH,
Whiskey

Thats a pretty neat idea.I wonder if I could just add the rigid air tube down from the top and leave it as a hang on for now to get more air bubles. It may interfeer with the vortex it creates with the water pump and all.

The Vortex is one of the problems with this skimmer as I understand it. That is the way I ran it at first, give it a go, I think you will like it, and you don't have to drill anything at first so this is a cheap thing to try, and you can just put it back to stock by removing the airstone.
