whoops,
or notice a difference in using ozone? I heard everyone raving about ozone on RC, but, many were also using a dirty DSB. Am I correct in thinking that BB useres really have no use for an ozonizer?

thanks casey, I kinda figured that since I noticed no difference in my tank after starting to use it. But, I figured I'd run it by some of you experts, now that I know where to find the experts!

I run it on my tank and I did notice a difference when I first started using it.

I use it and have noticed that my water is much clearer than not using it.
Also the advantages are typically not seen at all. It's like asking if a UV sterilizer works. Well yes it does but you really don't see any difference in your tank with the naked eye.
At least that's my opinion. I do use a UV on my fish only tank too.

Welcome to TRT!
A number of us still post over at that other place occasionally, but not nearly as much as we used to. I saw your thread over there and noticed it quickly evolved into something we really try to discourage here.
A lot of people are successful in keeping reef tanks using a lot of different methods. The purpose of this forum is to encourage open dialog. Whether you like sand or don't like sand (or don't care one way or the other), you are welcome here.

Weatherman: Like I said in the other site, I was just looking to find people who would have answers to some of my questions, people who have experience running BB and wouldn't shun my method as a "FAD"; just glad to be aboard.
Any others with some positives, negatives, or no results using ozone?

I have never used it myself, but ClockWork (ClkWrk at RC) uses it, and likes it.
Glad to see you over here! I think you will like it allot, I know I do.
That "fad" comment and what preceded it really ticked me off, enough to get me to post over there, he should know better.
Welcome
Whiskey

It is supposed to improve skimmer performance, clarify your water, and make some forms of organics more available to skimming.
I can't say if it does, because I have never used it.

Not really considering a generator is a one time purchase and carbon has to be swithed out otherwise it leaches. I like using it for the crystal clear water and as a secondary offense on pathogens besides the UV. Is it nesc? No.
