No pods in my tank

Another note that still puzzles me is I have NO pods in the tank. I have not had any since cooking the LR. I dont know if one has to do with the other but no coraline and no pods on the same LR?

One sure way to get allot of Pods is to have a dirty tank.

The lack of pods would tend to support the current thought that your tank is sterile.

wouldn't I need pods to have pods?

I am starting to add allot of food to the tank. I hope this does not bring back the algae.

As long as you're taking out what is not being eaten you should have no algae problem.

The skimemr is on and there is some skimmate - I dont know if its pulling out all that I am putting in. I can tell you that the one fish is not eating all the food being afdded to the tank.

When you say "some skimmate", care to be more specific? You should be getting a full collection cup of tea colored skimmate a day if your feeding a lot.

1 cup a week if I am lucky. The skimmate is green and is wet. The skimmer is a Euroreef ES5-3. I have cleaned the whole skimmer a month ago. I dump the cup twice a week to keep the riser clean.

Is this the right skimmer for a BB tank?

rob i'm sure theres pods in there . you don't see any in my tank either , till i have to do something like fw dip a clam . then i see quite a few floating around in the fw. . the coraline i dunno , you could try buying a small piece of coraline encrusted live rock and see if it dies off or continues to grow ! if it dies off then i would have to look into sometype of water issue . but if it thrives than maybe its just an issue with the old coraline .
