New rocks!

I picked up 2 new rocks for my tank, they are really knobby on the outside, (I like that look), but on the inside they are solid and very pours.

Water drains out of these for ever, and despite their huge size they only weigh 18 Lbs together.

What do you think?

This is the 50 (like a 55 but an inch or so shorter). The coral placement is not final, I still need to find places for a few things on the floor, and on that rack, but I will see how this works first. I will probably get 2 smaller rocks down the road for the left and right but I will see if this works first.

Thanks,
Whiskey

Thanks, things have been going far better since removing the rock and fish. Proceeding from here I am not going to add any fish until I see the coral wants them, and nitrate hits 0. Then I will add fish slowly, one at a time waiting a month in between until I hit my limit as dictated by the coral.

Thanks,
Whiskey

I like it! I find it interesting since looking a BB tanks how the more minimalist, clean look, really starts growing on me. What a change from fully loaded sand bottoms with tons of rock/rock walls with caulerpa all over to a sleek colorful environment. Really looking forward to watching your tank grow (corals I mean) .

i am starting to really like this less is more approach ! now as i look at my tank my eyes can concentrate on corals and fish and not at every little thing that moves or grows on the rock (not that i'm saying if you enjoy that kind of thing its bad ! ) , also the colors are more noticable since they don't have a rock backdrop .

Thanks all, the simple look is growing on me too, the more I look at the tank the more I think I should have bought smaller, but more elongated rocks. I think having 2 more small rocks on the sides, or better yet, one more rock and having just 3 would be a better look than what I had before. Now I just have to wait years for the corals to fill in. I need some big staghorns.

Thanks,
Whiskey

I know, my rocks looked allot smaller in the huge curing tub.

My nitrate is still somewhere around 10, but with no fish that can't possibly stay high.

Thanks,
Whiskey

OK i am confused, how is it your rocks are white and you have Coraline on the glass and the bottom in abundance? are you adding anything to the tank to make it grow?
