New clams
Well, last night I got my clams, one is a Crocea about 3" and the second one is a Deresa about 4" (thanks Jason). They are right now on QT. I found some snails and I don't want to put them in the 55gal until they are gone.
I always tought the clams are the jewels of the reef.

I agree, you can't find a coral with that much color and personality.

Day 7th of the quarentine phase for the clams:
manually removed only 2 snails, one per clam. Also some eggs from the deresa. Will wait a few more days.

Day 18 of QT.
I still saw some snails on both clams. It never occoured to me to check the very edge of the clams, where the mantle folds over, there was a few snails there and I also saw a small (1/2") bristleworm, later I notice the bristleworm was next to some snails. Could it be eating the snails? I don't know but I got them off the clam. I really wanted to move them today but I guess I'll wait.

They feed of the clam's mantle. Also check the scoots for eggs, and on the bottom of the clam at it's foot. Night is the easyst time to see them, they are nocternal.

Try a yellow coris wrasse in the QT, they're good with the PS. Downside...they need sand.
