Nassarius snail in BB?

I've got 3 nassarius snails from my 30 gallon tank that I was thinking of transferring to the 90 gall BB. I know that they like to live in sandbeds and wondered if they'd be OK on a BB tank. Anyone have ideas?

I don't think it will work out. Most of their food is in the sand.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm getting rid of the 30 gallon tank though and don't know what to do with my snails.

I had some in my 15G to see,.. they lived, but really didn't look very happy so I moved them out into one of the sandbed tanks.

I did it, they seemed fine. Maybe it shortened their life, but I don't really know what their typical life span is... I still have a few that pop up now and again.

I've always wondered this too. Would setting up a cup of sand for them work? I seriousely doubt they'd know where to go though.

I wouldn't do it hng. That's like putting a sand sifting goby in a CC bottomed tank. Just think of the stress. We all work hard to make sure these animals have as little stress as possible in their lives.

I will try to find them a better home. For now, they stay in the 30.
