Is that a new addition??
Cool. I see he is already out and about too. A few months ago I had this misconception that triggers of any kind werent really reef safe. Im glad to learn i was wrong becasue they are really neat fish.

i had no idea a trigger could be reef safe. I read an article that said the blue girded angel was safe too. don't know of anyone who has one though. So its just the niger and bluethroat that is safe?

He truly is wonderful! Glad you posted yours in your thread - 'cause I truly believe thats what brought me mine. He is out and about! Doesn't seem to like the chromis although they're suppose to be compatable, but can you really know for sure? He's timid in low lighting. Funny. When just the actinics are on he runs for cover. Only about 4-5 inches big, is still just a baby, got plenty of room for him, so far so good. Great eater and tremendously fun to watch as he seems to glide about the tank like a fish with bat wings. Seems to be friends with the anthias, but a comrade with the Sohal and Desjardini Tang as they follow each other around the tank and through the rocks! I've removed just about all the snails to a 29 gal. tank that I had already started up. So far so good - Thanks for your posts! He's a pretty cool fish that has quickly become a favorite. I don't think I knew I was getting him...I believe subconsciously it came from this thread.

Do you say this becasue you are concerned he will munch them??
Im hoping not. Ive been feeding mine fairly large hunks of clams and oysters. Thats really all he seems to pick out of my homemade food are the larger stuff and leaves the finer cut and other smaller food alone. He goes right for the biggest hunks floating around and leaves the smaller stuff for the tang and doliatus. Hes got an appetite thats for sure.

Yup, concerned he would munch them...for me it was an ok move-the snails I mean...he eats all foods offered, no appetitie problem at all! My LFS guy said not big deal if he eats the snails and that he'd need a supply for his teeth (red) which I've yet to see. (I believe this shows when they are more mature) I have a hard time with cannabalism or survival of the fittest...I truly want them all to live....I'll do it if I have to, but I'll have to walk away, I don't think I could watch, lol, He loves blender mush, which contains oysters, shrimp, squid, clams and whatever fish is on sale at the market...but of course they are not in their original shell........
