The corals to the side are stuck on by magnets. I make them by sealing a strong rare earth magnet in between two pieces of thin acrylic, and then grinding the whole unit round and coveriung it with an epoxy glue mixture. They cost about $2 apiece or you can buy similar online for about $6 apiece.

The reddish coral is a hallimeda i believe

I thought hallimeda was a macro algae or something....Will have to look it up. Did you buy it from someone or a lfs? I'd like to find it for my tank.

Im running 10k XM's......but only have been for less than 2 weeks at this point on the BB tank.

I switched over on my 225 a month or so ago to the 10k's.

I knew there would be some growth difference with the 10k vs my 15k's..........but the difference really was so signifigant that only after this short time I can say that with no doubt in my mind.

This last FTS i posted here is obviously still with the 15k's......I need to custom white balance my camera to the new lights and post some more pics.

250 watt Icecap electronic ballasts. 2 on my 90 along with 2- 48" 110 VHO's. 3 on the 225 along with 4- 48" VHO actinics.

I ran the MH alone without the 110 actinics until i switched to the 10k bulb.......... Just now is the 10k not looking quite so yellow to me after using the bluish 15k's. Its quite a change in both brightness and color......

And some video flow fun with the 8 way

I simply drop the water level in the tank and let 2 ports stick out of the water to catch some air bubbles...another 2 ports slightly catch some air......and 2 spraybars and two ports low in the tank arent catching any bubbles...but if you look you can see the bubbles a churning........ya gotta look at the little bubbles once they are down in the tank......kinda cool i think

lol....yeah...flipping the switch kinda caught him by surprise at the beginning

Its funny....obviously the flow on the reef is way less than i torque it against the walls.....but that fish for some reason 90% of the time hangs out in the heart of it....
