Pff stupid, I must read things more carefully... I just bought the digitata, so I don't know what it will do. I have seen digitata colony's that encrust like you describe, but I don't know why they are doing that instead of growing upwards.

This tank makes me want to go BB. I like how the tank doesnt have any trim, you dont have a bunch of clunky equipment in the tank, and it seems very seemless. Terriffic tank, and I'll be looking forward to more progress. Im a softies fan myself, but the BB with the SPS forest is gorgeous.

Thank you very much Jflip!
When I was planning this tank, I wanted it to be clean and simple. BB contribute to that look IMO.
Tomorrow I will travel to the beautiful country Belgium ( ) There I will buy some more Apogons (maybe 20 more...)

Very cool! Enjoy your trip That's a great way of doing a growth pic, how did you do that?
Looks great as always!

Yep, I did it with photoshop. 2 layers, make one transparant, so that you can fit them together. After that colour the transparant one red (or blue )
The trip to Belgium was nice, I just returned. The Apogons were not in stock anymore
So I bought some other fish;
(not my pictures)
6 Myripristis Jacobus
1 Acanthurus coeruleus (juvenile colours)
I'll make some pictures soon

Leonardo; it's official: I hate you and your tank!
That is AWESOME!!
How many fish total are you up to, and how have the smaller cardinals (?) been schooling? I always fear that over time, schools in our "smaller" tanks break apart, and dont stick together.

Haha, thanx!
The cardinals don't always school closely. They are fish that hang stattically between coral etc. They don't swim around much.
Sometimes (feeding, etc.) they swim in a large school, together with the Myripristis.
So, they do school, but not a close one. They don't break up either. I think in larger tanks the schooling effect is better visible then in my (smaller) tank.
Total fish at the moment:
6 Myripristis Jacobus
9 Apogon Leptacanthus
1 Acanthurus Coeruleus
1 Acanthurus triostegus
1 Zebrasoma Flavescens
1 Salarias Fasciatus

btw, I upgraded my lighting in the meantime. I was getting too much shadows from the center colony, and the frags underneath were not recieving enough light anymore.
Because the corals have darken up lately, I thought I could take the risk and add some light.
I DIY a little. I removed the ballast from the pendant, and put another 250 watt in in (that ballast also external) I made a new reflector out of aluminium sheet, in a spider-reflector shape.
The current lighting setup is: 2 x 250 Watt DE AqualineBuschke 10K + 4 x 24 Watt T5 Actinic

Woh, quite an upgrade How far off the water are you running the lights? How far apart are your two bulbs?
