update- my clowns bred
I have a problem with the polyp tank. I actually had an anemone ordeal a while back. he started to move and i thought it might be the end of our relationship, but it was simply hydroid induced and ill spare you the details but I got him back where I wanted and happy. the clowns incidentally bred soon after they were reunited after a month of being apart so I think they were just happy to have their home back.
but my problem is in dealing with it I ended up taking all of the rock out of the right side of the tank to fix the aquascaping and the starboard floated on me. iit is up about an inch now annd it will never go back to flat so new starboard is needed.
In thinking about the breakdown its going to take to replace the starboard............... Ive decided to get rid of this tank altogether.
Having the other big tank the 18" depth of this thing is very limiting and frustrating as far as aquascaping as the back wall simpl;y comes too soon. Im replacing it with a 48x48x20" true eurobraced with a external C2C. I am going to build the tank myself out of 3/4"......maybe 1" acrylic. I foresee changing nothing as far as general tank design and flow schematics, but having much more fun and getting truly funky with the aquascaping and additional 30" of depth.
:ighting is certainly up for debate. I will probably go with a couple of full size lumenarcs and a strip or two of t5's in front and back. I think I would actually like to play with true color control, as the last few systems I have run are pretty much dictated by the choices in 250 w halides.
