Looks like a fun project. What are the dimensions on that, Bill? It's a 240, right?

building and upgrading the tank is fun. Moving all of my corals is NOT fun.

Moving the tank into the house was not all that much fun either

dimensions are 72 x 30 x 26

looks great ! is the overflow made like mine , multiple 1" x 6" slots ( or close ) ?
if so you should consider putting gutter guard in the slots , trust me !

no...its a 60" toothless overflow. So the gap is .33" x 60". No gutter guard needed nor wanted. That just reduces the amount of linear overflow area. Its built exactly like my 90 but just longer. Its the absolute best you can do as far as surface skimming ability and the thinnest sheet of water possible being removed from the tank.

Man...am I slow. I should know better than to ever give myself a timeline. lol

The leak has afforded me the luxury fo time, and that along with just beign really busy has made this drag on. I also ended up putting a lot more time into revamping and setting up my 90 as a polyp dominated mixed tank. I have been moving all my polyps over to it for the last few days and am very pleased with how it is turning out. I just today took my trigger and tomini back from the lfs who was holding them for me and put them back in the 90. The big tank is plumbed as much as I can do without it being in place and as soon as all of the polyps and non sps are out of it, I will then move the sps top the frag tank and get this done. I do have about 20 sps in the frag tank now and all seems perfect. I feel good about the lighting in the shallow tank. I have the halides about 18" above the water and am running about a 75% photoperiod and what is in there seems no worse for the wear and they have all been in there for a couple of weeks.

Thats all. figured I should post SOMETHING. Maybe in a few days you will get some pics of the small tank. As usual, I got a little funkier than last time even with the aquascaping and did something a little out of the ordinary.

You just shouldnt give us your timeline.

I'd love to see pictures of the 90. I'm dying to set up a smaller tank for some LPS stuff, but I'm struggling to justify it.

here is a teaser of the 90 for you Chris.

Forgive the salt streaks down the glass and the lighting, but the aquascaping is 90% done and 75% of my polyps and non sps are moved over. The lights are a POS 36" PC set up. I am short onlights and the sps frag tank obviosuly gets the priority. The canopy and 250 w halides for this tank are on the frag tank/sps holding tank at the moment

Looks great. So you've got all your LPS in here too, like all your chalice corals that I need frags of?

Thanks. I like it so far. Im a little concerned with the well being of the fish with the amoutn of high flow throuogh the CLS abnd those intakes with such an open aquascape. There is less than 25 lbs of rock in there and not manyplaces to hide. I just threw the fish back in yesterday so I am watching carefully especially after the lights are off making sure they find shelter.

I dont have the chalices/echinos like I used to. I do have a few nice ones but they are small. I imagine you are thinking back to the large sweet ones I used to have before the accident last year. I lost them all.

That stinks... yeah I remember you posting pictures of some amazing chalices not too long ago, but they were probably from the archives. Is it just the trigger and tang in the 90?

That is looking very good Bill.

Thanks for the update. I wish you continued success through the rest of the rescue operation.

ya Im slow...orbusy..or something...

anyway. today is the day...the point of no return....tank is empty...fish are pi$$ed. lol

It didnt all fit in the frag tank...I kind of knew thats how it would go....the floor of my the return half of my 100 gallon sump is kinda packed too. slimers, a couple other stags tht wouldnt fit and a buncha frags. I made the mistake of moving one of my decent sized slimers over and it almost started a chain reaction of slime....it was only in there for a few seconds when I realized how dumb that was and then I spent the next hour siphoning slime from whoever was releasing it........

all seems well now....it stopped thank god. I plan on having all of these corals in the new tank this time tomorrow......

these p[ictures came out kind of funky.....ow well.....dont have time to mess with them...you get the idea.........you can see the difference between the 10k reeflux and the 10k xm regardless.....
