Great video Gman, I keep trying to get something worth watching of my tank, but until now I have been a failure . So much of a fish's appeal is how it moves, and you can't capture that in a picture properly.

Very cool Madmac and Bond, Can I get specs from each of you?, and a full tank shot from Bond?
Thanks,
Whiskey
Hi Whskey, thnx.
The tank is primary SPS, with some LPS, added around December 2005.
Specs:-
Lighting :
- 4 T5s using the Aquaz BluePro(2) and 1 Aquaz 10000k and 1 Aquaz 20000k. On from 7.30 am for 12 hrs.
- A single 250W BLV MH, 10000k right in the centre. On from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm
Venturi skimmer:
- the small Weipro 2011, driven by a 1200 l/h Eheim, it skims wet. I've hooked up a top-up device to top up NSW, so what the skimmer skims out, the device will replace with NSW.
Return pump:
- Aquabee 2000(2000l/h), in line to chiller before return to tank.
Maintenance:
- daily dosing baked baking soda and calcium chloride.
- syphon out snail poo+detritus, every morning, replace with clean NSW.
I have a very long way to go - after 6 months of cooking rocks, finally got my tank up this past weekend. Snails ordered Monday and put into the tank on Tuesday. A couple of fish this weekend, let things settle for a bit, then back to corals.
Still some trim to install around the tank this weekend.
Great tank Dkh, you are off to a wonderfull start. What do you have for equiptment, flow, skimmer, lighting?
I bet you can't wait to buy corals, that is always my fav part
Thanks,
Whiskey
Thanks Whiskey
Tank is a 110 - 72X18X19. There is about 140 lbs of LR in the tank. A pair of Tunze 6100's in their deco rocks w/ the 7095 contoller and a Panworld 200 for my basement sump return connected to 3 penducators. Right now, I have both a Euroreef 6-2+ and a Tunze 9010 as skimmers - deciding which one I will keep. Lighting is 3-250W 10K Hamiltons with 3-65W actinic PC's. Waiting for the summer and my sump makeover to tell me if my next purchase will be a chiller or calcium reactor. Since my sump is now on the floor in the basement, I'm hoping that maybe that combined with a few fans will keep my temp down this summer.
Trim work to be completed this weekend includes wallpapering 3/4" quarter rounds to go around the bottom of the tank and creating a chair rail to go on the wallpaper/painted union on the walls.
Had a tremendous out break of dino's a while back that pretty well wiped out my tank. Right before I remodeled our living room, decided to shut down the tank, remove the sand bed and cook the rocks. Remodeling took way longer than I thought and Ms. dkh really wanted the living room done before I set the tank back up. After finishing up the ceiling, I had our upstairs bathroom toilet spring a leak - redo the ceiling. Then just a few weeks ago, just as I was ready to put the tank back together, the drain for the shower leaked, had to replace a 3'X7' section and do the ceiling for the third time. Chemical burns on my hands from stripping the windows, etc - the list can go on.
Currently have about 100 snails, mostly Astereas and Ceriths with a couple of turbo's tossed in. A couple of fish this weekend, not sure what just yet. My center piece fish will be black tang, but that won't be for another 9-12 months. With the flow that I have, it will be SPS dominated.
Thanks Madmac, so you syphon every day eh? That is detacation right there, it seems to be working great for you very nice tank.
What do you have for in-tank flow?
Thanks,
Whiskey
Yeah, I rather not have to do it. I'm just unable to get them up to the overflow. A neat pile gathers right in the middle, every morning, this gets hosed out.
The in-tank flow is provided by 2 Tunze Streams on 7094. It is set on sequential and pulsates 5 secs btw 70% and 100%. It is connected like this:

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

How did I miss this? Thanks for the write up, great setup you have started there, be sure to keep us posted with plenty of pics as the tank progresses. I wish you better luck with your bathroom in the future, those leaks can make a MESS of your house.
Why not run both skimmers? Cleaner is better

All you people with your tuneze and cotrolers I am jellous
I have a little pile that builds up too, but I put off dealing with it until the weekend, or twice a week. Have you thought of something like a sea cuke to eat the deatris? Geoff gave a great writeup on them for me over in the SPS fourm, I will give one a go if I find one.
Thanks,
Whiskey
