Great tank PaintGuru, where have you been hiding? What size tank is that?
Thanks,

Post a setup thread in the BB fourm, that way we all get cool pictures, and we can chime in with suggestions and tips along the way.

I'm busy in the summer with soccer so not a whole lot of free time for me. Its a 92 cube with a 400W Reeflux 10K in a Luminarc reflector. Things seem to be happy enough (I am getting a little hair algae for some reason, need to figure out why).

Barebottom for over 2 years, growth and color are much better than my DSB days.
The Chips, Tort and Pillow were small brown frags on plugs 2 years ago.

Indeed, things do seem to be quite happy. If you are getting hair algae it means that you are not getting some deatris out. Look for settling spots, make sure your skimmer is running wet enough and evaluate your export in general.
Do you blast off your LR regularly? Sometimes deatris can build up in nooks and cause algae, this could give you an idea where you need a little more flow.

Whiskey

Yeah I've been playing with the circulation lately. I think a lot of my detrius is pushed underneath my starboard. I think I need a Seio to blow underneath my milkcrate to get that stuff going. Again...just been to busy lately .

paint guru: I have a similar problem with detritus going underneath my starboard. I have 4 Seio's blowing straight down along the back, which helps a lot. Although, in the front there are still areas where it gets under. Although it aggrivates me, and I know it definetely isn't helping my tank AT ALL, I have no adverse side effects that I can see or test. I have no algae, anywhere, and my nitrates and phosohates are 0. I also have a BB chaeto section of my sump, which I keep very very clean, which hopefully is taking out any nitrates that enter the water column at all. I run a Deltec MCE600 skimmer.
Hope something here helps solve your algae issues.
Dave

Been a while since I posted a pic of my tank. Nothing changed just a new acro up front left side and a new oxypora that doesn't show up in the pic very much.
Some of the fish.
