Heres a pictorial of my switch from SSB to BB and cooking L/R

Hi guys. Here's what I have been doing with my tank switching from SSB to BB and cooking my L/R to rid them of the shedding detritus that was driving me crazy.

Some of ya know me from another site and to those that dont here is whats up.

My tank was full of detritus after a short three months.I cured the rocks in the tank when I set it up and the rocks shed like crazy.I thought it would have stopped by now but it hasnt. There were a lot of detritus trapped in spots near the bottom of the rocks on the sand that I could not get to when basting to get rid of as much of the shedding as possible. After reading all about the Cooking of rocks and the fact that it would ridd the rocks of the crud and help with the problem of phosphates I thought it would be best to go this route while the tank was still in an infant stage.I like the look of the Bare Bottoms and I especialy like the concept of HIGH FLOW AND BB TO KEEP THE DETRITUS IN THE WATER TO GET SKIMMED OFF.I will keep my sump bare and use a good skimmer and clean the prefilter regularly to keep the det, from reaching toxic levels.I know some dont beleive in the BB and cooking thing but I do and want a cleaner and easyer to clean tank that HOPFULLY will be 0 in Phosphates and 0 in Nitrates.I guess its more a personal prefference.I hope it all works out in the end like I antisipate.

I'll try and post the pics of where I'm at so far.

First is what the tank looked like after being set up for 3 months.

Here is the tub I used to hold the fish, coral frags,a few peices of small L/R to give Bio filtration to the main tank after the starboard goes in and while the rock is cooking.

Here is a shot of the starboard I used.I cut the corners on a 45 degree angle to look nicer.I also was able to cut the board and fit it in the tank in one solid peice.

Next is the tank after the starboard went in and I am housing the fish, corals and some L/R untill the other rock is cooked. These small peices will go back to the LFS on trade when I'm done cooking and the cooked rock goes back into the tank.
