Here I am!

Well, first off I would like to say long time reader and first time poster. I took the BB plunge about a month ago. It has taken me about 9 months of collecting and saving to get to this point and I will never look back. I was pleased to see that a site had been so open as to let us in w/o riducule. You know that we are the vermon of most sites.

I have a simple question past my introduction: Has anyone ever kept an eel or toad fish in a BB? I am threatening a new move in the office and would like to switch my aggresive tank over to BB. Thoughts or suggestions?

Welcome to the Dark Side You should have no problem having those fishes with a BB tank as long as you take the measures to have all the junk they produce as quick as possible out of the system. Good flow and skimming should take care of that for you.

My concern is where to have them. Should I build some type of caves for them? Maybe a PVC cave system. Or would they hide under the rock work just as in a tank with a DSB? I just want them to be happy. Not just survive.

They'll be fine. I think that you will be able to aquascape the LR in a manner where they'll find a place to call home. If not there's always the PVC hideout idea.
