Because I want to make this tank and aquascape look good I began to read a lot about Japanese Gardens; ("Zen-garden" is not a good term http://www.rothteien.com/superbait/zenviewpoints.htm)

You can learn a lot of these scapes; Rock lay-out, coral placement etc.
Here are a few examples

Ryoan-ji Gardens

I think a new thread should be made so we dont ruin Leos lol.

But I think thats a good general concept, yes. Lighting requirements are also lower since there is supposed to be a lack of phosphates.

Next week my new skimmer will arrive from Germany! It will be the first piece of equipment I'll have for this tank

In the meantime I have thought about flow. Will it be enough? Do I have to add one or two Tunze 6100 extra?
I will use the same open rock structure as the Formosa-Forest. That pumps (2x6100) are only running at 40%-60% in this tank (92 Gallon)
The thing I worry about is the distance, can a 6100 give enough flow over a distance of 30"? Any experiences or thoughts?

I will add another returnpump, because I like the thought of a high Turn-Over rate. This will be 2x1000 Gallon total (head-loss included). (turnover 8x/hour)

hey Leonardo; cant wait to see some pics.. I wish you luck moving forward!

When I went to Japan we visited the Zen Gardens in Kyoto, and it was a great inspiration.

Here is a photo I took while there:

Thanks King-Kong, Nice picture! What I like about the rockstructures is that they look very natural. I know it's not easy to create a structure that looks natural and balanced. That's why I'm studying these gardens

Do you have pictures from other gardens, or some close-up shots from the rocks maybe? Thanks.

Sure; here are some close ups... basically, they were able to recreate an entire mountain, from just a small boulder, and an entire ocean from just pebbles, and valleys and shores from just moss... it's all very impressive.

..and here are some other panoramics that were of other beautiful gardens:

http://www.d3f.org/misc/japan/panora..._pavillion.jpg <- golden pavillion panoramic that's too wide for this site

and lastly, here's a nice acro / island I saw while diving off of Okinawa during our trip (excuse the bad pictures, they were taken at like 50' with a disposable camera!

approaching the rock, note all of the damsels and blue/green chromis hovering around the large coral:

Now here is a closeup, showing you what the chromis and damsels do when you approach!

They all run inside!.... anyways.. very beautiful stuff over there
