Flow question

I have been working on getting my flow up on my 55gal, I have 2 mod maxi-jets (I am guessing around 600gph) and I recently got a Seio820, my return from the sump is a Quietone5000, rated for 1300gph, maybe more like 1000gph after head loss. I think it is pretty good but I still see detritus on the bottom of the tank.
Should I increase flow until the detritus is no longer seen on the bottom of the tank? I am planing to get another MJ and modify it since I got parts to do it anyway.

I have 88x turnover right now, and have still some spots were detritus is collecting... I think it's hard to prevent ANY detritus from collecting at the bottom. If it's in a easy reachable place so I can siphon it out every other day, it's fine with me

On the other side, more flow doesn't hurt anything, so mod those MJ's! :P

Keep in mind that no amount of flow in the world is necessarily going to suspend everything or even most everything unless it is directed and/or controlled in such a way that forces it up into the water column and eventually into the overflow.

Thats true... Is't not only the amount of flow, also important is the direction. And that's a matter of trial and error.

I've got about 100 turn in my 58, the stream's are in the back corner's and the flow goes down the front glass across the bottom and up the back. I don't have to siphon anything

On the contrary, the number of people who accomplish enough everywhere flow to accomplish never having to siphon are very few.

Im pretty sure i have, it worked in my test runs with rock racks in place but my rock is still cooking for my new system........so we will see. for sure in about two weeks.

Ive all but accomplished it in my DSB tank so im pretty confident it will work in my BB tank.

So you have it facing the front glass?
I have one of my MJ facing down on the back wall, it pushes stuff to the front but it is not enough.

Could you post a picture please?

Less flow can be more efficient than more flow if you have changes in the turbulence with timers and wavemakers. And like the others said, well tuned and placed flow
