I've been cooking my liverock for about 4 months now. When I first took the rock out of my display tank, I left a few large rocks in that were heavily encrusted with
green button polyps. Of course, these rocks have continued to support the ugly green hair algae/bryopsis (not sure which), but the rest of the tank has been pretty much algae free. So, I need to get those rocks out and I'd like to save some of the polyps. Is there any way to get these guys off the original rock and glued onto some cooked rock? I took a razor blade to one and it wasn't a pretty sight.
Alternately, is there some way I could try to cook these rocks without killing the coral? Maybe just an hour or two of light per day to keep the polyps alive?
Thanks,
Phil
