Bye Bram

My poor blue Triger jumped the tank. He was fine this morning when I went to bed...went down to the tank to give everybody a feeding when I woke up and Bram didn't come out to greet. I looked everywhere-then found him a good three feet from the tank on the floor...water parameters are fine and the other fish are fine also...he just jumped ship...never did get to see his red teeth, and he did like my snails...poor thing...very suprised to see him soooo far from the tank. He certainly sailed through the air!

Sorry for the loss. I've started covering my tanks once the lights go out.

Sorry for your loss. They can be jumpers. Is your tank grounded?they can jump because theres stray voltage in the water.

Thanks for your thoughts, he really was a beautiful fish to watch-kinda glided through the water like a bird...
Stray Voltage, I hope not! I've never felt anything...when I moved the tank I had a dedicated circuit panel put in for the tank...everything is on a three pronged outlet which goes to the circuit panel which would flip off if anything was wrong...at least thats what I was told. What do you think, is that true and enough-how could I tell if there was stray voltage...would I feel it? Like when I siphon out detrius my hand is in the tank (I've never felt anything). Scarry thought!

That's bad news Viv... It's sad to find a fish next to the tank, I have experienced it also myself... Are you already thinking about any kind of "replacement"?

Thanks Leonardo, sorry to hear you lost a fish Hop...It's bitter sweet, I feel bad about losing a fish-but really had to watch putting my hand in the tank-he liked to nip...and eat my snails! I was happy to have him though...right know I think I'll leave things alone...
