BB'ers what's your MH photoperiod?
Please include tank size, bulb type, number of bulbs, and how long per day they are on.
Reason I am asking:
I have been doing the short photoperiod thing for a while due to inital bleaching when I setup my tank. Lately I have been uping the MH photoperiod for growth and I noticed that my acros did not bleach, but color got better and growth has exploded. I am now thinking that I can have a normal photoperiod and that my inital problems were probably due to new tank instability and lack of feeding so I am wondering what your photoperiod is.
Thanks all,
Whiskey

I have ran 10'ks for a shorter period like 4 hours. 20k's I run for 10-12 hours depending on the time of year. These are on 250w ballast both xm se bulbs.

120 gallon
(2) 110W actinic on IC660 - 12.5 hours
(2) 250W Radium (SE) on PFO HQI - 8 hours
(2) 250W 10K XM (SE) on IC ballasts - 2.5 hours and increasing about 15 minutes per week. I'm ramping up again, too...I'll probably stop at 4 hours/day if I like what I see.

Nothing but 250-watt HQI 10,000K Ushio bulbs in PFO Mini Pendants.
Each pendant is on six hours a day, but the on and off times are staggered. So, the total time at least part of my 180 is lit is 10 ½ hours a day. The total time at least a part of my 120 is lit is 8 hours a day.

Like Weatherman, nothing but 10K Xm 175 watts on a 9hrs photoperiod with:
Right side bulb turning on at 3PM turns off at 9PM
Left side turns on at at 6PM shuts off at 12 MN.
This way I have only 3hrs of both bulbs on at the same time creating kind of a day cycle effect.

Whiskey 50 gal, 2 250 w 14 k Aquaconnects= 4 hours per day, Actinics 12 hours a day, I experimented with 6 hours and promptly began losing color. However i am feeding more now , and run 2 skimmers so perhaps that was some of the cause of loss of color

Thanks for responding everybody, it looks like the results are across the board, that usually means I simply need to find something that works for me and my tank and there is no one "right" way.
Thanks,
Whiskey
