BB SPS keepers Calcium Reactor, Kalk Reactor, or Both???

Just curious what you are using, what size tank you have, and how much of a SPS load you have???

Currently I have about 350g with six 5" colonies and about twenty-five 3" or less frags. I do a weekly 40g water change and only use a kalk reactor to keep things in check. Everything is somewhat stable with a drop in alk from 9.2 to 8.4 between water changes. Calcium stays between 420-435.

The basis for my question is do you think I'll be able to survive without a Calcium Reactor or do I need to start planning on getting one in the near future. I don't want to do a 2 part, so that's not an option at this point.

Wasup Mike? Nice to see you around.

I'm more a 2-part guy myself, but at the moment I'm coral free. I guess a CR would be a good set it and forget it kinda thing once dialed in.

Still avoiding the corals?
I'm going to go ahead and get one. Seems like even without sand, most SPS keepers can't keep up with kalk alone.

Jerel still around?

Just made a DIY Ca Rx. I had a Kalk reactor for several months, and it usually did ok until lately. I have an 8" Tri. Gigas, a 6" Deresa, and a small crocea along with a couple of LPS. I wouldn't say my Ca demand is very high, maybe mediocre. But the Kalk reactor was barely keeping levels at 400 and it was a pain adding Kalk to the reactor every week or two (i'm lazy). I still use the Kalk reactor but only fill it about 1/month. I built a large Ca Rx so I basically gotta check it like once every year. Just keep an eye on my pH and that is all. It did take nearly a month to get my Ca Rx tuned properly, but now I forget it's' even attached.

I have a heavy calcium draw from sps and clams so my Ca reactor runs constantly. I drip kalk to keep my ph up.

I have a decent amount of CA draw. My reactor constantly going with inside pH at 6.6 and my kalk is ran thu my top off. PH in tank generally is at 8.2-8.4
