BB in an Aquapod?

I got a 24g Aquapod and I was thinking of giving BB a try, but I'm a little worried about the rock breaking the bottom of the tank. If I do something like starboard and then decide to add a sand bed how do I take it out? Somebody's done this before

Has anyone tried covering the bottom in rubber? Maybe something like one of these: http://www.smooth-on.com/brush-on.asp

I have cut my starboard in my tanks, larger than your aquapod, about a 1/4" narrower than the foot print of the tank. I then placed rock on top of it to hold it down. If you did go back to sand you would simply remove the rock and board and then add sand. Is that what you are asking?

why would you remove the board, just pour the sand on top...that is what I would do.

Ever heard of anyone using a liquid rubber on the bottom to protect it instead of starboard?

Haven't heard of anyone doing this, but personally I would do some extensive research before trying something like this. There are some epoxy paints that are safe but this probably isn't what your looking at.

i would be very careful about using liq rubber. we use several diff kinds for commercial roofs and they definitely are not reef safe. warning labels say cause birth defects, cancer, rigamortis, et

Don't go with sand, that's even safer (JK)

Might want to look a bit deeper into the epoxy. I remember reading somewhere about soomeone using epoxy and sand to make a faux sand bed. Except when the epoxy cured, it also shrank, cracking the bottom of his tank.

Research research research!
