Bare Bottomed and Mixed Reef?

My next tank is planned to be BB so I can get rid of the sand headaches. However, my kids have now picked out some zoas and they are now a part of our reef set up. How hard is it to have a mixed reef and BB? I don't mind feeding them and so forth. Also can keep the SPS near the top and point most of the flow up there, but the bottom will have flow since it is needed to keep the bottom cleaner. Won't need a lot really because my LR will be such that it is two columns. That means that only two rocks will actually touch the bottom, the rest are suspended above. And advice to keep these favorites and yet still have BB? tank is 75g and lights are 6x54w T5 if that helps any.

I've been doing it for years, you just have to keep the flow a little lower in some areas, or just strategically place the corals so they're not getting totally blown around.

it will work, i have a bb 37gal. all my sps are doing very well and so are my zoa. colonies. i feed my 4 sm fishes med. 2 med-hvy, the zoas get their share of the food but consistant husbundry keeps the sps happy. i'm sure my 13 feather dusters r doing their part helping the sps.

I have BB tank set up just for zoas, and it is just as high of flow as my sps tank.

Zoas love high flow. Just not high VELOCITY flow. The same thing can be said for sps.

you mean aim the water front to back or higher than the zoa's? I'm confused...
