B S B S B S B.....

Don't laugh..I'm setting up my new 29. In the past week I've had it BB, then added sand, then siphoned out the sand to go BB...yup added sand again...talk about flip flopping !!!!! Well this morning (when the coffee kicks in ) I'm going BB for good and it's all thanks to broadband HAHA. Hubby got us broadband two days ago and last night I FINALLY got to see all of the BB tanks that my dial up stopped me from viewing on page one (too impatient to wait) WOW !! That's what I want MY tank to look like. I'm not putting starboard down and will aquascape with the view of keeping landslides away. One more added straw on the old camels back was just looking at my 20L SSB. It's always got little areas of yuk (that's technical) and if I up my water movement I have a sand storm. I'm So looking forward to being able to blow away my detritus now that I've finally convinced myself to go BB.

Wish me luck

Setting up a new tank is so exciting.

Thanks

Hey I have a quick question...what's the best thing to stop the light from penetrating through the bottom of the tank into the cabinet..or do you not worry about that...guess I could think of it as free lighting for a fuge hehehe.
I can't spray paint as the tank is full of saltwater and equipment and I don't really want to empty it alltogether. I could use a brush and paint it (how about a nice sand color!) from the underside. Or should I just leave it as it is.

Thanks for any advice.

I painted some poster board sand colored and set my tank on it or you could paint the underside use low odor paint,I keep the bottom of my tank real clean so the nice color always shows through.

Cool. I think it'll go look for some nice sandy colored paint today that would look really nice from the top.

Thanks for this site... everyone here is so helpful.

Thanks, the little guy pictured is my 2 year old stallion "Ozymandias". He's 28 1/2 inches tall and should be about done growing.

Well got all the sand out without making any clouds (phew) and I'm way happier about it.

I'm going to go one further with my tank bottom. I know that it's the sand look that I'm going to miss so I'm going to get some poster board. Paint it sand colored and then put a thin layer of glue over it and ...yup...sprinkle sand on it like glitter. I'd just like to see what it will look like when placed under the tank....boy do I have too much time on my hands or what
