Looks to be anhyrdous calcium chloride, which is more potent than the other stuff. RHF says to use 20% by volume of anhydrous in place of the powder form.

I use "All clear CA hardness". It works great, and is carried by a major pool company, (meaning you should be able to find it) though I don't know which at the moment.

That doesn't look like dow flake IMO . I also use ALL clear ca hardness. As the msds sheet is dow's sheet on dow flake . It just repackaged. I would look for a msds sheet on that product.

No, not insted of Kalk, that's Mrs Wages Pickling lime, we use this insted of the CA part of a 2 part sulution, Baking soda for the Alk part. We add water to a measured ammount of each to get a ballanced additive per RHF's article.

Well yes and no The only reason I ever used Kalk was to bring up alk without lowering ph . Using dow flake, mag flake, baking soda replaces the 2 part systems at a cheaper cost.

Mag flake is used as it is better than epsom salts for raising mg

thanks for the foot work clock! i looked at the dow flake file and unless you have the decimal point in the wrong spot , it looks like the pool time product has less inert potassium and sodium .
