23 day update w/ pics

well i figured it was time for an update . its been a month of ups and downs ! the worst down being that i have lost both of my derasa clams . one has been with me over a year and the other around 6 months . i have no idea as to what happened ! i checked them for snails and anything else that would have stood out , but nothing . i'm on alert with the other 5 clams left , so far they all seem to be normal .
so let me start out with some pics of what the tank now looks like . since the last pics in the build thread i have done the following to the tank and cabinet. i just didn't like the looks of the 1/2" glass edges so i put some no rot plastic mouldings on all four corners and held them in place with velcro just in case i need to remove them . secondly i added some trim to the center sections of the doors .

now for some pics of the bad things that have happened . this is whats left of a very nice green pocilla . i broke off as much bare skelaton as i could . it is actually starting to look alot better then two weeks ago so fingers are crossed . one branch i broke off and glued about five inches from this colony is doing real well . atleast the tang is helping keep the algae from over growing it .

this is another piece that took a big hit ! it bleached till it was just about a white skeleton . i really thought this piece was history but i decided to just leave it since no algae was growing on it . as you can see there is a glimmer of hope , with a few spots of brown reappearing !

one more note of sad news , we found the lubbocks wrasse on the floor yesterday , no saving it . o.k. thats not all of the bad news but more will be explained in one of the next few pics . so how about some good news and pics . these next few shots of corals are of some corals that have responded really good , don't know if its because of a change in position or flow but i guess it doesn't really matter !

now for somemore of the bad news ... i had put in four dispar anthias but one was found dead three days later wedged between a powerhead and the glass . the other three are doing great ,eating like horses and get along with the other single species of anthias .
