Water temp and chillers
I am wondering what temp some of the local arizona reef tanks are running at. I have my 125 set at 77 degrees and my chiller is constantly turning on. I have my house A/C set to 78 degrees because my electric bill is too much already. I am running a 1/3hp JBJ Artica Chiller that I have had for about 4 months. I have never owned a chiller and I don't know how much use they can take.

I have mine set between 77.3 -77.7. I also have to run a heater because the tank temps at night drop to much without it. Do have the air running yet in the house. Don't need it yet. But I'd say my chiller runs about 4-5 hours a day.

I don't have a chiller, I use fans,... If I had a chiller I would still maintain my tank at 80 though. I have a Granger temp conroler that kicks the fans on and off to maintain between 80 and 81, I keep my house at about 80-82.

I am running the A/C already because my wife hates the heat. I don't even have my heater plugged in anymore because it never dropps below 77 degrees.

I keep mi tank from 77 to 80 at the high end, I have a fan blowing across the top, the AC at work is set at 72. My tank is at work, were I control the termostat. I don't at home, the boss does not like it this cold. And I save $ on electricity and get to see my tank all day!

my softie tank runs 81-83 chiller
my sps tank runs 80-81 chiller
my 40g runs 79-81 no chiller
my 44 runs 81-84 no chiller
my 20g runs of the 90g
my 15g nano runs 80-82 no chiller
I stopped trying to save too much as my electric is still around 275 now and will reach around 400-500 each month come summer billing.

My temps stay between 81-83 constantly. I do have a chiller that kicks on @ 83. This is common for Arizona though, unless you have a basement home.

I am in the process of getting Metal Halide lights right now and I am going to leave the top of the canopy open so I can put fans in there to keep it cooler. The PC lights I am running right now really seem to heat up the water more than I like.
