Zoa munching nudi?
I think I might of had one. Is there a way to see if it layed eggs? I will have a pic very soon. I really hope there is not more. This colony has been closed for a couple days and then I see this guy on one of the heads.

little white dots are indicators of eggs.. getting rid of the nudis is easy wheny they're adults... .just dip the colony in lugols solution for a few minutes then shake and blast the colony with a baster.... eggs are sticky and will not come off except by tweezing them off...
the best time to catch this stuff is before you put them in your system.... my understanding is they do get around from one colony to another so if you saw it on one, you likely have it on others...
go to this forum... http://www.michiganreefers.com/forum...play.php?f=104 the top two stickied threads are great information.. you may find an alternate cause for the closed polyps from it...

Summertime is no time for a reef. Too nice of a weather and too much outside things to do instead of taking care of a tank.

I know it's been a while since I posted about this. I tried to dip all of the zoas in an iodine solution but to no avail. I did find a web site that says to use flatworm exit and it should kill them off, but you have to use it a couple days later to get the eggs. Here is a link from zomania... http://zomania.com/index.php?main_page=page_3. I'll have to wait until after Thanksgiving to get some. If my LFS even carries it.

The flatworm exit is of no use at all. Tried it several time and no luck. Persistance and a turkey baster work best to pull any active nudis off. Freshwater dips and cutting off any polyps that have eggs will get rid of them as well. You have to watch closely for weeks(several times a day). Get all the adults and keep watch for the juveniles. If they never make it to adult stage, they can't lay eggs.
