I bet they are running Arduino since they are using the ATMega328 Chip, but ya can get the same thing going for a little less, and you will get more channels...

grab one of these...
http://nkc-electronics.amazonwebstor...source=froogle

these...
http://www.robotshop.com/arduino-uno...m_campaign=jos

and your $10-20 under what the Typhon LED Controller costs, but you still have to spend hours programming the thing...

so unless you need more then 4 chanels or a fancy program, that Typhon LED Controller is a good buy!

I paid $about $2.50 for them

Thanks,
The Typhon I got has already had the sketch re-written to mimic the exact weather patterns of the Great Barrier Reef. But at this point I will not be able to use it it uses PWM for dimming and my drivers are dimmed via Pot. SO I have t options 1, new drivers 2, rewrite the sketch to control a digipot.

Yes it is Adruino based and no it would no require hours of programming. I have the sketch for the typhon...

But you did forget you would need the RTC shield....

Personally If I was building it which I may I would use the 4.3" TTF with manual sliding dimmer override. and temp sensors for controlling heat sink fans.

you can get a analog to PWM converter. Or make your own, really easy and cheap.

I thought it was the other way around, is so a capacitor and some resistors are all you need to convert PWM to Analog....

to go from PWM to analog all you need is a low pass filter so basically a capcitor in parallel with your control circuit.

going from analog to PWM is a little more complicated. you need a 555/556 timer.

http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/555timer.htm

EDIT: Nix that. Going to PWM to analog where you want a specific linear ratio of duty cycle to output voltage is also comlicated. Gotta factor in the resitance of the control circuit:

Oh I understand. I misread that your drivers are controlled via digipot and not a 1-10V signal.

Well so far this weekend I have the three panels wired and tested

24 LEDs per panel
12RB
6CW
6WW per panel

The panels are 8*12

I'm also running more LEDs along the outer length of the tank

2 1"x1" aluminum square tubing each with 30 LEDs
12RB
6CW
6WW
6UV
