Hey all you Indiana people

Everyone ok after the storms and tornado? I'm not sure where Griffith is or if anyof you live near there, but the pics on the Chicago news look like Lake Co Indiana got hit pretty hard

Yeah I heard it was nasty over towards the west. It kinda fizzeled out before it got to us here in North Central...

Approx 36hrs no electricity, no phone for three days, water boil notice for three days, and a very messy yard...I'm lucky my sister, less than two miles away had nothing for 5 days.....

I recently bought a gas generator for $275 at Aldi's (of all places). Yes, it does fire up..and works. Max 6000 w!

I have it rigged to my Fuse box. If anything goes wrong, I pull a few switches, fire up the generator and have electricity to much of my house. Well, heat, fridges, water...and of course...for the FISH TANK!!

That was my reasoning to the wife to get the generator minus the fish tank.

As you know Kelli, i made it thru ok during all that stuff, being some 30 miles to the south. Just a lotta wind n rain for a short time.
My folks were a few miles south of the worst part of the tornado, but luckily just the normal tree branches down , but power was out for 3-4 days (they had a generator to get them thru)

I drove around the area that got hit the worst, like the residents affected said, it WAS like a bomb hit, a number of houses leveled, and many others with varying degrees of substantial damage.
Weird to see it in places you grew up around,,,
