Starfish?
Has anyone else ever seen tiny starfish in the crushed coral of their tank? I have these TINY (the largest's body is MAYBE 1 mm) with 5 arms and on their arms, they have little protrusions that meet up perpendicular to the arm. I'm sure they are beneficial, but I just wonder what they are. There are hundreds if not thousands in there. I thought maybe they were sand sifting, but i think they're way too small for that.

Are they all white and look like a serpent star? Or are they a tanish whitish color with one arm longer than another? If its the 1st then they are o.k. The 2nd is a coral eating star, but that is up in the air if they are bad or not. Some people say they never see them eat on a coral others say they have.

I forgot what they are called. A pic would be nice but I know how small they are. They are fine if they are the ones I am thinking of. No need to worry. I have a couple that are all white that usually gets blown around the tank when the 2 mjs kick on. The others just hide in the rocks.

I have thousands of black and white striped ones in my tank and they are good scavengers.

Yeah they're fun to watch. I didn't figure they were bad, but I was just wondering what they were, and how big they might get...

The biggest I've ever seen is about the diameter of a nickel. That is with the arms.

From what I've read, those are detritus eaters and good for your sand bed. I know I have LOTS of them in my live sand in my 29-gal reef.
