Nimas Members.. Road trip to...

Anyone in NIMAS want to make a road trip up to Preuss Pets in Lansing?

Here's what I'm thinking...

Leave no later than 9:30AM.. get to Lansing around 11:45-12::00 and eat at Mitchell's Fish Market.. awesome restaurant with really good seafood! expect to spend roughly $15-20 per person without alcoholic drinks.. at say 1:30, make the 5 minute ride to Preuss and spend 1-2 hours there (I spent nearly 1/2 hour there and all I did was pickup my fish - but was never bored)... I'll see if I can have them give us a tour - including behind the scenes stuff..
So we're probably heading back at 3ish which puts us back in Elkhart/South Bend around 5:30ish...

yea, it's a little bit of driving to do in one day... 150 miles one way from exit 92 on toll road to my in-laws... so there's 10-15 gallons of gas used up for a 30mpg car and 20 mpg car respectively... so that's about $30-$45 in gas.. if there's 4 people per car, then it works out to about $8 to $11 for gas per person..

just an idea...

in terms of date.. a Saturday or Sunday in August or September?

also, I'll see what can be done about a group discount... kirby - preuss employee - mentioned it again to me today and just needs boss' approval...

Sounds great to me, not sure what i'm working tho, it would have to be when i'm working midnites, since my weekends are now worked (and have off days like tues/weds right now) but in time will rotate to where i'm off (for a while) on the weekends.

I would be unable to do this trip. We've cut spending any extra $ right now.

Would love to, I actually need to go there anyways to pickup a Rainbow Monti. I would probably drive my self though as my wife and child would be coming along.

It sounds like a good idea--maybe sept. or oct. when the weather starts to turn a little and people aren't as busy.

Sounds good to me Dave. If I am not working I would love to go. Waiting until the weather turns a little colder is probably a good idea, as people's schedules are usually not quite as full.

I wouldn't mind going but that would be a longer trip for me. 1 1/2~2 hrs. to elkhart then another 1 1/2 hrs. to Mich. If I had a 4 cylinder instead of an 8 and a boat load of money to spend to make it worth it, I probably would. I guess I am out of this trip. If there ever is a trip to the shedd or close around here I will go. That is 30~45 min. from my house.

Plus ya got the summertime w/ kids outa school , so i'm quessing families n kids fill up the place more now than in the fall. Seems like the last couple times i went to the Shedd, i somehow picked a day when it was grade school field trip day I tended to stay away from the throngs of lil ones, and made it thru without too much of a headache. But i'll check n see which day is field trip day there b4 i go the next time LOL.

We will be going. I want to get some nice stuff for the new tank. I have the money now but in a month or more I will have sold my extra equipment so I will have hopefully around $800-$1000 to spend.
