My wife was there today and told me about it. I do not know how big their selection in based on what she told me. I'd have to see it for myself as well.

I went to the place tomorrow to take something to my sister (she works at one of the places), but it was packed beyond belief and I really didn't want to fight the crowd to get to that place. Also, I didn't have much time before I had to be at work at one of Elkhart's other LFS's lol.

They seem to sell Aquapods 12g and 24g variety and corals/fish are a side thing for them. There werent any fish when I was there today but she told me they planned on getting some. The corals in there were typical variety and pricing was $49, ea. (a little steep, IMO). They have equipment geared towards the Aquapods. Prices for the tanks appear to be about $100 to $200 more than online retailers. That's all I got to report from them...

But on a side note, I can now finally get some good Italian deli stuff here in Elkhart. 'Oh Mama' is the name of it and located on the south side. Great olives, mozzarella, salimis, provolone, romano cheese, etc. It's what I've been searching for since moving here four years ago!

I finally got there today too. MAN IT WAS A MAD HOUSE!!!!!

The place there was about the size of my closet and bklynmet was right very expensive. After talkin to the person there they don't seem interested in promoting the hobby but rather just making money. I went in there like somone who didn't know anthign and all they tryied to do was sell a tank and not explain anything like water changes, RO/DO water and stuff like that. They basically said just plug it in and let it go.

That is pretty disheartening to hear. Well it seems that the ones that are just out to make a quick buck don't last long. Hopefully they will learn before they are gone as well.

But you see, they're setup in a place that's only open 3 days a week, 7-3pm with mostly 'tourists' coming through. So they'll make their $ because there's lots of foot traffic and people buying on impulse.

too bad we can always use a new lfs.....

Joe, we have been waiting for a New York Deli that sells real corned beef. So far the closest we can find is in Detroit......a 3 hour drive each way for corned beef is a little much......but it has been done. BTW is it fresh Mozza? in olive oil with basil?

Lorna, It's fresh mozz - plain though which is just the way I like it so I can season it anyway I want to. I do think they make mozz. salad of sorts but there wasn't any when I went by. woah - real corned beef? that'd be a treat!

I too dropped there for lunch and was quite disappointed with the store. Mosty Aquapods, it didn't seem like they put much emphasizm on upkeep. Simple things like RO/DI water only, skimmer, didn't seem to exist.

He claimed that they just used a wet dry.... ;-(, no skimmer.

But, the tanks didn't have much of a bioload, so perhaps it could survive.

Just not sure with the water quality around here.

I am still new to the hobby, but I did stop in this shop on Friday and picked up a Purple Frilly Gorgonia for $26 (good sized 8-10" tall 3 main branches). I searched online for pricing after returning home and discovered that was a little high but not bad considering there was no shipping. They are supposed to put in a large display tank this week with more coral to sell.
The polyps look fully extended does anyone know should I be concerned with feeding the Gorgonia or is photosynthesis enough? I have a 90 gallon tank with 2 - 250w metal halide10k bulbs and adding 2 - 46.5" super actanic VHO's.

Thanks,
Brett

Sand $, if it looks like this, then it's photosythetic and you do not need to worry about supplemental feeding because it is photosythetic - provided you have adequate light.

When I was there last weekend, I got a blanket $49 ea. price on all corals. Now it sounds like MWC philosophy
