Hey Joe / Reef shops in Lansing?
I'm going to be in Lansing on Saturday, I don't know my way around. Any reef shops worth my time to try to find?

They have a special right now - fill a 5gallon bucket with as much LR you can get in there for $50.. It's base rock type.. they have good rock with varying prices from 5.99 to 12.99 i believe.. they have a sponsor forum on www.michiganreefers.com and you can ask them questions there...

Cool, Thanks.
It turns out it is just 6.4 miles up Cedar Street from the antique radio swap meet I'm going to. I'll take a bucket. Should be a good day!

I WANT TO GO. I do but I probably can't this weekend too much stuff going on. I am thinking of planning a trip up there it seems really cool. When the new tank is swapped over this weekend I will have all kinds of room for new corals.

Wow! I'm blown away. I could have spent all day at Pruess Pets, & ran up all my credit cards! I managed to escape with just a clown & a feather duster. The clown is getting along great with my existing clown (fingers crossed). Here is a pic of the new guy. Sorry so blurry, the little sucker wouldn't hold still!

Did you talk to any of the staff? That's what makes the experience a pleasure each time I go up...

Yeah, I can't remember the guy in the fish room's name, but when he found out I was from out of town he asked where I was from & how I heard about the store. I told him I was on a local reef forum, & he said "Oh you know Joe? He's our best customer"! Maybe you should get a discount for sending customers their way!
I left the store with just the clown, but the further I got down the road the more I realized I had to go back for that really cool feather duster.
When I left the second time, they did tease me a bit & asked if I would be back in another 20 minutes.
The cashier was real cute too!

Hey guys! That was me at the shop Saturday....the guy in saltwater, not the cute cashier.
Thanks for the good words about the shop. It's always nice to hear from out-of-towners.
I'm thinking about running the idea by the big guy about a carpool sale for a weekend where everyone with an Indiana ID would get a discount.
Thanks again,
Kirby Adams

Now that is an awesome idea...
Note to Nimas Members - this is just a taste of how cool Preuss is...
It's not only livestock, but drygoods, and experienced and knowledgeable staff that takes the time to explain things and isn't closed minded about different setups... and they post their prices (inside joke for NIMAS members re: a LFS).

You have cute cashiers?? Im in for a trip up there . When I sell my old tank and equipment I should have about $800 bucks to spend on new stuff for the new tank. I can't wait. Someone please go by my tank in the selling forum. Its not $800 thats just all my other equipment combined.

well, it takes 2.25 hours from exit 96 on the toll road going to 69...
you may save a few minutes getting to 94 then 69 from SB, but I'm not sure..
