Here is a pic of the sump I am going to build. Neep opinions.

I will run the CS8-3 skimmer on this. How high should I make the bubble tower, how how should I make the bubble trap and how far apart should they be. Should the middle one be 1" off the bottom? Also, what dimensions height, width, and depth should I make the refugium? I kind of know what to make them but wanted opinions. I want to order the acrylic next week.

Would love to help you but I have no idea about sumps, refugiums, over flows, closed loops, or anything of that sort.

First question is where is your return pump....I assume on the side other than the one with the bubble tower....Then you could be getting bubbles form your refuge....I would personally put the bubble tower, refuge, and skimmer area on one side of the bubble trap and have only the return pump on the other. I agree that you should use at least 1" spaces in the trap...I typically use 1.5" (size of 2x4). This is just my opinion, but if you need or want some help, just yell......

Dan makes a good point there. I wouldn't think that it would matter how tall you made the bubble tower since the water level would equalize with that of the surrounding sump. I would think just a few inches above the planned water level of the sump would be enough.
