Explain this one to me...

I listed some frags for sale on ebay yesterday (just as I have done many times before) and I get this email back from ebay:

eBay sent this message to David Grall (grallster1).

eBay Listing Removed: Animals, Plants, and Wildlife (=PS &12363 JM95552347)

Dear grallster1,

You recently listed the following auction-style listing:

270099141943 - LIVE CORALNICE YELLOW POLYPS

The auction-style listing was removed because it violated the eBay Animals, Plants, and Wildlife policy. All fees related to this listing have been credited to your account. We also notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has
been canceled.

Sales of live animals, plants, and wildlife products are heavily regulated and, in some cases, may be prohibited or harmful to the Community. For these reasons, listings for these items are severely restricted on eBay.

Tropical fish, domestic (not exotic) aquatic snails, and five species of imported escargot snails are the only types of live animals or pets that are permitted on eBay.

However, before listing tropical fish and domestic aquatic snails on eBay, sellers must:
- Have the proper federal and state permits
- Guarantee in the listing that the animals will be packaged safely and shipped by next day delivery.

With regard to the five species of snails that can be imported and sold as escargot under U.S. law, they are:
- Cantareus apertus (Helix aperta)
- Cryptomphalus aspersus (Helix aspersa)
- Eobania vermiculata (Otala vermiculata)
- Helix pomatia
- Otala lacteal

***Note***
The snails must enter the United States through John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York, where personnel will confirm the identity of the snails.

Since when is this? This was the only auction that was cancelled out of 12 frags. The funny thing is, the polyps were a relist from another auction where it didn't sell. A quick search for "live coral" turned up 887 items. Are there really that many items on ebay that coral sellers have been slipping through the cracks all these years?

Dave

Not to mention "Aquarium Coral" is the subheading I'm selling under!

There was a problem recently concerning a listing of yellow polyps that used a copyrighted photo. Here is the link:

Perhaps you were caught up accidently in the cleanup?
