Yard,

You brought up a couple of good points. I did not think about the effects of saltwater on exposed metal. I can always replace the test plug with a permanent one. Also, the skimmer will be in my basement fish room (concrete floor). I am trying to figure out a way to plumb the skimmate to my waste pipe, but I don't think I will be able to make it happen. So, it will probably go to a 5 gallon bucket that I will have to empty as necessary.

Thanks for the insight.

How much would it cost if I paid one of you to build me a "geoff" skimmer for my 60g tank? I am so retarded when it comes to diy stuff. I'd probably glue my hands together and build some ugly, leaking monstrosity.
