Well tank is almost done.
i have a small splash/leak i need to fix. so running water in it is not a good thing. i will have to run to the hardware store in the morning.. pictures tomorrow!

Roger, i decided to stay with the baffles, the flow is soooo good that it shoudl be sorta a settling area. We will see. so far the only real expense was the lighting and the pump. everything else i had already.so right around 150$ ( no corals ordered yet)

You go Tim!

I'm glad the baffles worked out for you. I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished product.

okay got the tank up adn runnign some what, leak is fixed. buti want to play withthe down flow and shut off area.
here aree the rough shots. no skimmer in it yet or heater, that will be in a few days, i hope to get LR in to it by the weekend.

the down drain wiht shut off, i want to re do this piece to increase the leanght of it, that should make it quiter.

the tank it self, shown is the drain spout, once the LR is in you should not see it.

the sump area, mag 5 pushin' the water...oh yeahhhhhhh .. ROger i know you are not a great fan of the baffles , i am hoping they will act like a settling area , the egg crate is just there while i am testing everything, it is cutting down onthe splash and the bubbles. i am thinkng of in creaseing the down spout to go in to the water it self.
i will do that tomorrow..
so whatcha think so far?

Tim, the only reason i'm not a big fan of baffles is I can't make them very good, so I have to work around my "acrylically-challenged" hands by making something else!
Looks good, keep up the work dude!

Well the LR rubble is in!!!!
i have some re arranging to do but i want everything to settle down first..
here is some perlim shots..i have some more rubble to go in to it had it cooking and then stored in the main tank until i got the leak fixed..
i decided to use the mag as a return from the sump through a sorta spray bar to have the flow go across and down and up the back of the tank.

hehe ,
it is a cheaper skimmer, i had laying around, the Aquariumsystems veri skimmer.. it seems to do alright so far. i am trying to keep the cost down as much as i can..
i hope to re scape it maybe tomorrow.. I forgot to place the PVC supports under the LR rubble,
OH the final water volume is 16gallons ( that includes skimmer and sump)

Way to hang in there Tim looks good too!
I can relate, the joys of home ownership! We had to have our septic lines dug up and replaced last week... ouch
