I just came from HD and forgot to pick up a large tube. Don't need it yet. I hope you heal fast Tim.

Looking good Tim.

What are the glass partitions for? I keep thinking I'm missing something, I've never used baffles and never had microbubbles. What am I doing wrong?

thanks roger,
the baffels are for a setteling area, my thinking was to place the skimmer in that area and also have any gunk in an open area easier to get at..but then again i never tried something this small...
i did not get the stand built for it this weekend , but everything is cut for it..
i like hte manifold Genie did, i wil have something a little like that but arcoss the back only i think, Found an old PC hood that i should be able to use , just gota find out what size buld i can use..

Just keep forging ahead Tim. You'll "Git 'er done"!

The design for the manifold was Anthony Calfo's idea. I'd had a copy of his Advanced Aquarist article laying around for quite awhile and had used it for setting up a frag tank, but hadn't made it a closed loop, so one of my nozzles had more flow than another. Key is keeping it a loop, every nozzle has quite a bit of flow with none more than another. Great idea, we'll not even need a powerhead. Hopefully nozzle placement was okay. Even better, we cut one of the nozzles nearly flush with the water line, so not only do we get surface agitation, but that nozzle sucks air as soon as power is cut, so no siphoning of water and very little water level drop!

one of the things i woudl love to try, but not too sure if it woudl work , but using the manifold like you did would , should be able to do this, and keep everyone happy...

oh i quess i need to tell ya.
after seeig all the various pictures from you and jerel, and greg and everyone else that dives, i was thinking of making a wallish type setting but right in the middle of the tank, so you could actually see both sides of it.
this way using a manifold return i would know that there is just about the same flow on each side....

Dont worry that you dont have a lot of time to work on it, we are in the same boat. Just keep telling yourself there is plenty of time. Then rush like h*ll at the end

Thanks Tim , I was thinking 100 % silicone with no mildew control is good.

I know that feeling of waiting and then rushing ,
