Tabwyos nano
Well since I haven't recieved my hex tank from Marine depot I guess I'll just have to wait. Or maybe I'll go buy another tank instead and get started.

All you need to do in your initial post is describe your plans. I listed some example info for you to provide in the rules post.

Well my initial plan was to bottom drill a 20g acrylic hex. Rig a central downtube to surface skim to a Fluval 104 canister filter. The cantister return would be split and returned through the bottom into opposite side of the tank. A CLS powered by a Quiet One 1200 would intake off of the central downtube as well and be returned up one line through the bottom of the tank and split with a Y. This would by a moderate to high flow system so it would have to be bare bottom. I planed on growing a bed of GSPs to kinda look like grass. The tank woul be mounted to one of those endtables that has a light post mounted to it. I would rig the light to support a 150w MH HQI pendant up inside the lamp shade wich would be blacke out with sheet metal and have a fan to draw heat up and out of the lamp shade. But if I can't get a staus on my tank tomorrow I will scrap the plan and think of somethin new.

Are you worried about the cannister filter sucking in air from the surface?
I may also be doing a hex nano if i cant get the lighting i want for the 14in cube.
Could be interesting if we both go hex!

I plan on extending the down tube enough to prevent the canister from sucking air. All I should have to do is keep adding water until it stopped pulling in air.

Its always worth a try mate, they can only say no, and then you are no worse off than you would have been for not asking.
But if they say yes....!!

Tabwyos, that would be great if they sponsored you! Good luck.
I look at things the same way, if one doesn't ask, one will never know?
