Rian's Nano
I am starting a 2.5 gal nano. It is a bowfront. I've drilled the back and created an overflow. The return is a 170 gph powerhead return drilled into the back. I will use a 5 gal bucket for the sump. No protein skimmer, just frequent water changes. Lighting is tbd. I will add some liverock. Corals to be polyps, mushrooms, some gsp. These will be frags from my 29. Maybe a small candy cane coral or other lps. As far as fish, maybe a small goby and possibly a shrimp.

Here it is with the first dry run over. Cementing the connections and will let it run for a few days to be sure there are no leaks to deal with

Got some rock in the tank now. Found one heck of a hitchiker, a 3 inch snowflake eel. Can't get a decent pic of him though. All in all, it looks good. The return line is a little noisy. Shouldn't have used a 90 corner off the overflow. Little late now Thinking about a little more flow for the tank and still thinking over light options.

I assume the 90 degree corner is why it gurgles and burps from the overflow. Little loud, but the flow in the tank seems to be pretty good.

Ok, better post an update before Skeety beats me to it Anyways, the rock has cycled. After adding a few rocks from the 29, everything leveled off in two weeks. I added a small spraybar in the back to help with water movement. All in all I like the results. It is aquascaped the way I like. I bought a branching hammer and fragged of a portion of it for the nano. Looks great! Also have some mushrooms and star polyps that will hopefully start growing. Lighting is a 20 watt 50/50 screw in bulb and a 6500k 15w c.f. I built a stand. Have a fan blowing on the sump and temps stay right at 80 degrees.

As far as inhabitants, I have two turbos and a small hermit crab. Haven't decided about a fish, maybe a shrimp. Here's a bigger pic of the rockwork.
