Yeah, having a tank already going, and putting a few pieces of rock in there really speeded up the cycle. Also fragging a few softies gets me movin. I'm really looking at this point to see growth in the polyps and mushrooms.

Ok, spent some more time in the tank today. Didn't like the aquascaping. Took out two of the rocks, took out the thin sand layer. Seemed to be too much detrius collecting. Using a small pump for a spraybar in the back and going barebottom.

New tank

Well, I broke the first tank. I wanted to add a ball valve to the uptake line. Ended up cracking the acrylic beyond repair. So I had to go out and buy a new 2.5 bowfront. Re-made the overflow to the corner, so it was out of the way. Also plumbed the sump in the back of the tank, so I could put it on the entertainment stand and much cleaner look. I posted a pic of the set-up and tank. I think the look is much better. I added the spraybar into the return line, which adds a good amount of flow, with no additional pumps needed. I like the idea of some gsp on the back, so glued a piece to the back wall. And I added my pajama cardinal to the tank. He should be happy there.

NICE! Sorry to hear about the "speed bump", but looks to me like a blessing in disguise. Coming along nicely!

All is well with the tank. Very stable. The gsp are growing like weeds on the back of the tank. I have a second frag of hammer coral in the tank while I wait to set up the 72 bowfront. Mushrooms are multiplying as well.

all is lost

Well, looks like I'll be out of the contest I just moved. During the move a wire got loose and when I plugged it all back in, zap. All the corals got fried, plus my pj cardinal. Now that I've gotten a 72 bowfront to play with, I'll have to wait before setting up the nano. Nice thing is that I have the equipment, and the tank. Just don't have a place to put it at the moment. Sometime down the road though, such a nice little tank.
