PinayReefer's 10g Turbid Lagoon w/Sump

Kumusta!
I am new to this forum, but I thought I would like to set up a tank in your contest so that I could learn all I could about it and have a cool tank too! I have some crazy ideas, but my husband told me that anything I want to try is fine with him. I will set up a 10 gallon tank with a 10 gallon sump (I got the 10 gallon tanks on a deal at the local aquarium store, is that an lfs?)
I will try and get sponsors for my system, and put their stickers all over my stand, like a race car! That way I can get stuff cheaper and be able to afford the system. Also, when I win, the prize will hopefully be more than I paid for the setup.
So here's my 10 gallon tank before modification (like a race car, this is not a "Stock", it is a "Modified")

Thanks Capt, and VWD!

I decided to cut down the 10g tank to make it shallower, to better simulate a turbid lagoon (I like saying that, hopefuly no one wil get too tired of hearing it). A regular 10g is 11" high, I'm cutting it down to 6". Here are the marks I made to guide me in the cutting, hopefully that will go well.
I'm also going to make an external overflow. Can you tell I've been reading lots of posts? Sounds like a good idea for a small tank, to keep plumbing outside.

I read a thread on the DIY forum about cutting glass with a dremel tool. My husband has one, so I bought the recommended diamond bits and got set to start cutting.

Everything went well until I actually touched the bit to the glass. I guess I should have read a little more of the thread. I have since learned about tempered glass. See, I'm learning so much already!
