At least it was a little tank and not a large *expensive* one!!
Good luck with the next one...

The capt. is trying to get everything shipshape!
No, I Genie, am doing this tank, despite my husband and his friend's potential help.
Okay, to put you on notice. I drilled a hole in the bottom (See what kind of help I get, he told me it was all drillable but he'd only drilled the bottom glass before) put a bulkhead, then bent a piece of acrylic into an L to make an overflow. Rather than cut the top, I glued two pieces of eggcrate as a guard.
Now I'm glueing sliced baserock to the back of the tank. (Yes, Rogerio did slice the rock, that tilecutter Scared me.) Once the rock is glued in, we'll add some pieces of liverock, some livesand and some water from the big tank, vacuumed out while we're scraping corraline, to seed the tank, and let it cycle. Rogerio claims that feeding it calcium gluconate will speed up the growth of corraline on the bare baserock. We'll see about all that jive.
I also spraypainted the back of the tank black, to hide the gaps between the rock. I may add "mortar" in the gaps between the rocks to make it look continuous, but only a little, don't want the pH to get out of control.
