newbienanoers 10 gallon (was 5.5 gallon desktop)
ok, i hope its ok that i've had this tank alreayd started a little, its held water and sand since friday, but i just acuired the LR today, nothing was done to start a cycle before that so i think it should be on.
heres the tanks specs:
5.5 gallon AGA tank
around 6-7 pounds of sand
4 pounds of live rock (more to come)
rio 90 powerhead
50w heater
currently lighted by 20w incandescent until i make my nood, this is just used i can see in the tank.
the exact livestock is still changing, but im thinking for a fish some type of the smaller gobies, not sure on inverts yet either.
coral wise im gonna have some differant polyps and other corals im not sure of either, this is a work in progress, lol.
heres the pic of the tank so far:
the hood im building will hold 4 CF screw-in bulbs, i dont have alot of money to spend on this, and i know they dont work as good, but im not looking for any super high light corals. the bulbs will be either 10w or 20 w, i havent decided

I vote for "He's in!"
even though he started before posting his thread...he still didn't start before this contest was started! I don't see any problem!
Good luck Mark! Glad to see you in the contest!!!

Nice! tiny tanks are awesome. I have a 7 gal that I started in June (I think,) and it's really super cool. My favorite tank I've ever had.
One thing though, don't worry about adding any more LR. Some of your softies will come attached to rocks, and you'll need the room to put them in. It's amazing how fast you run out of room in a nano. LOL!

i just finished making a hood for the tank with my dads help, the lights i want for the hood wont fit so i have to figure something else out, but o well.
the hood isnt painted yet, and it doesnt have the lid or peices used to mount it on the tank, but heres what it looks like now
