ok, i just got done painting the hood with a sandable primmer, last night i spakled it to get rid of the nail holes and a couple small holes in the wood, so tomorow im gonna sand hood and do a second coat of primer.
i still havent figured out lighting but ill probably just find a retrofit kit to put in there, and a PC fan if it heats up to much, im also considering a matching base or even a full stand for the tank, most likely ill make the base, and not the stand, but the stand is still an idea.

Mark...
what's the dimensions of your tank again? The little lights I got from Doug at RTL are pretty nice! and only $28 bucks. Wonder if you could fit them in your hood?

ill have to wait til my dad gets home to get the exact messurements cause he has all the measuring tapes, and i think the lights ur talking about will fit, i just have to find a way to mount them, i really hoping to get this on by thursday afternoon/friday after school cause im goin away for the weekend and i dont want to wory about to much evap from the tank causing the SG to raise to much
no pics cause with my camera u cant notice a differance in the before primer and after primer, its all done primer wise, i just need to get some black paint, but i might just paint it white, but ill get pics once theres a noticiable differance

tested water params with my cheapy little "dip the stick int he water" test and my results were good, i've never had a problem with the results of these kits and im gonna trust it, but i still am gonna get a better kit soon.
it doesnt have ammonia, but i have 0 NitrItes and around 10 NitrAtes. so i think im gonna add maybe a turbo snail this weekend. lights are still in the process of figuring out what i want.

ok, so because of issues with the tank ill mention in a moment, im upgrading this tank to a 10 gallon
i didnt noticed til after i had it set up, that one corner of the tank is probably an inch higher than the rest, and i am worried about how this will affect the tank, and also, i've just recently noticed that the front of the tank is bowing out a good little bid and im worried about that cracking and breaking in the long run, so i will moving all the LR, heater, powerhead, sand, and everything else to a 10 gallon and work from that as my entry, i will probably do that process tonight or tomorow.

ok, so i moved the sand and LR and everything to the 10 gallon, but someting with the heater isnt working right, even tho its hte same size i normaly use on a 10 its not heating enough, so i moved the powerhead, heater, LR, turbo snail, and saltwater to a 3-4 ish gallon bucket and am running it there, i plan to find a home for my turbo snail, let the LR cure and get more so i can remove it into a 10 gallon, and maybe drill my 10 gallon for a sump. so far theres already been alot of things i have made mistakes on, mainly setup issues, but i guess this gives me a chance to correct some of those.

Started work on a stand today, wasnt very productfull...
one side of the base is longer than the other, but only by half an inch at the most, hopefully i can fix that tomorow. Luckily i only had enough wood to do the base. My dad should be picking me up some more wood in the next day or two.
