Maybe I'll decide I won't ship your corals back to you when you get your tank set up then you will get to see the tank when you come get your babies I do need to send you a pic of your babies. Is your e-mail the same?

I just spent about 30 minutes putting all the pics of the nano's construction in chronological order...pretty cool to watch it come together when played as a slide show...still a long way to go...I wish I could post larger and higher quality pics...oh well, here are three more. The other lights finally came in, besides the 150W pendant I will have two 20" T-5 actinics. The second pic is of my flow arrangement. The guard on the bulkhead next to the durso is the intake for the closed loop. The durso will be hidden behind a new overflow that will be a little smaller and take up less area in the center of the small tank. The two bulkheads in the front with the elbows coming out are the closed loops and will be for keeping detritus off the bottom...I am going to cut the barbed ends off the elbow on a 45 deg angle to encourage the flow to stay on the bottom. I am also going to drill/cut out two little pieces of rock to hide these. The two bulkheads in the back will also be hidden by black acrylic shields. When done there should be no visible plumbing in the tank. After much reading I have decided to go with the bigger Mag 7 return pump instead of the original thought of a Mag 5 and the closed loop will be run by a Mag 5 so there should be ALOT of flow in this little tank. Someone stop me now if you know why I should not put the fan in the top of the hood please! The last pic is fo my fan. I bit the bullet and bought the bigger temperature controlled Ice Cap fan. Unless anyone knows a reason why I shouldn't do it this way, this weekend I am going to mount the fan to suck air out of the TOP of my hood instead of out the side...I spent so much time on that hood I can't bear the thought of drilling out vent holes...and if I screw up the top I have another one that I left at my dad's during Christmas. I understand that the air cools the water as it moves across, but I am hoping that with the return air holes in the top plus the area removed for the fan, I won't really have a heat issue...the MH light should only be on about 5 hours a day anyway.

My only concern with the Mag5 (which is probably the right pump to get) is that I don't know what size that overflow tube is. If it's enough to handle the flow, then you're golden.
As for the fan...Can't hurt. Water might evaporate quicker...but that's not a BAD thing. Actually will help with air exchange. And smaller tanks heat up much quicker...so seems like a good idea to me.
Maybe just put it in the back instead of on one side? I dont' know.
Just be REALLY careful, and don't mess up that GORGEOUS hood!!!

The return pump will actually be a Mag 7...the durso is a 1" ...how much do you think that can take??? I figure it has to rise up 4 feet which I think slows flow to ~450 gph...think a 1" durso can handle that???

Thanks Casey! If anyone is looking for starboard, I just ordered mine from west marine. Check out this page: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...01/351/11160/4
I got the 12 x 27 x 1/4 sheet. Shipping and everything was $39.31. Pretty cheap insurance for cracking the bottom of your tank Should be here by the end of the week, so maybe this weekend I can get the overflow installed, the two corner pieces to hide the plumbing, and the starboard cut out and sillyconed in.

Starboard came yesterday. I traded in the LR from my old set up for store credit...got a Mag 7 and going back for the Mag 5 tomorrow. Hope to start cutting out the starboard and plumbing this weekend

Worked on the stand a little more today. Pictures of:
1. Fan installed and vent holes drilled on opposite side.
2. Same picture from underneath.
3. Although I will have to go back and cut more of the board after I install the overflow and corner pieces that hide the return plumbing, I got the bulk of the starboard cut out and fit in. It is 1/4" thick so I won't stick out much.
4. Another pic of how I cut the starboard.
5. I bought one of those things that allow multiple cords to pass through but hide the hole...don't know what they are called...the shot is of the back left corner and the hood is standing up on its front.
The MH pendant will be mounted dead center and two 20" T-5 actinics will be in there also, one in front of the pendant and one behind.

Thanks Casey and Chris! I hope to get the t-5's and the shelves for the closed loop and the ballast done tomorrow...I am pleased with the progress but I think I am the only one left in this thing that does not have water in their tank...
