Sorry guys...I know I haven't posted an update (or ANY posts for that matter) in quite a while...but been REALLY busy with home improvements the last 2 months.
Everything should be finished up this weekend. So look for me to get back to my regular posting schedule towards the end of next week.
INCLUDED with that, will be LOTS of pics of the finished basement!!!
miss you guys!!

I was reading your thread (complete newbe by the way), and read earlier in the thread that silicone does not stick to acrylic, very well. But someone said there was a new silicone out that was designed for it. I see you made your own tanks, just wondering what you used to bond them together. Keep up the good work with this tank it is beautiful, and this forum is the best. You all all so informative.

Welcome to TRT brushwiz!!
The glue to use on acrylic is called Weld-On (followed by a number which indicates viscosity). As far as I know there is still no silicone that can be used structurally with acrylic.
Mike, it's about time for at least a pic!

wow...I SUCK! hahaha
sorry...no updates as Kayla's tank somehow became MY tank.
(anyone else see that coming?)
and with 3 other tanks on top of this one...this one's been gettin a bit neglected. The birds nest bleached. The zoo's lost all color but brown. Some mean ugly stuff growing in some really hard to reach places. hahaha
just all around gone to crap. haha
While the end result may not be much...I must say I REALLY did enjoy building this thing...and if I didn't have the other tanks, could see this being a really beautiful tank. But alas...as they say in real estate...it's all about Location.
This tank is way down in the back of the basement...and just doesn't get the TLC it needs.
Got a few months...maybe I can pull it together...but with the weddin' coming up...wouldn't hold your breath! hahaha
